John Lloyd Clemente confirmed reports that he has committed to play for the NU Bulldogs in College. He ended his High School career averaging 16.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. JLC was also named as a member of the Mythical Five, and was named as an All-Star for the NBTC All-Star game and the SLAM Rising Stars Classic.

Why NU over other schools? It was actually a rather simple decision to make for John Lloyd. "Dito (NU) ako nakilala and dito din ako nagumpisa," mentioned Clemente. The pride of Pampanga helped the Bullpups program reach three straight Finals appearances, and he was able to bring one championship in that run. He wants to do the same for the College program of NU. "Gusto ko na magbigay ng karangalan sa NU sa college basketball."

In High School, Clemente played mostly as a forward and even at times shooting guard. For college, he's determined to play as a wing player. He's shown in High School that he has the skills to do that, knowing how to move without the ball, and possessing skills fit for a wing. There's a reason, after all, that he's been called college-ready for so long now.

Despite that, Clemente knows he still has a lot to work on if he wants to be a key cog of the Bulldogs. He wants to work on his body even more, knowing that the guards that he'll be facing in the Collegiate level are stronger and much faster than the ones who he faced in High School. At the same time, in order for JLC to successfully play as a guard in College, he's determined to work on improving his dribbling skills.

For next season, John Lloyd will be coached by former San Beda Red Lions head coach Jamike Jarin, and will be backing up shooters Matt Salem and J-Jay Alejandro.

The effects of Goldwin Monteverde's reported resignation from Adamson

On the afternoon of April 11, 2017, SPIN.ph reported that coach Goldwin Monteverde has resigned from his position as head coach of the Adamson Baby Falcons. Rumors of coach Goldwin's resignation has been going around High School basketball circles, so the news of the resignation didn't come as that much of a surprise for insiders. (Photo Credit: Hazel Siy) But for fans, the move came as quite the surprise. After all, the Baby Falcons were still projected to contend for a championship despite the controversial end that they had to their Season 79 campaign. Troy Mallillin is a Blue Eagle. Now what?

(Photo Credit: Janine Torre, The GUIDON) Against the JRU Heavy Bombers, Troy Mallillin finally made his much awaited debut as a Blue Eagle. Just seeing him in uniform was already enough for fans of the Blue Eagles to go wild. Seeing a NCAA Juniors MVP wear an Ateneo jersey feels weird, for any fan. Seeing a former La Salle Greenhills player wear the blue and white? It's like an Ateneo High School boy wearing a La Salle jersey. Oh.. wait... Obviously, any Atenean is brimming with excitement right now after managing to secure (or is it really secure?) the services of the former NCAA Juniors MVP. But what else are the other implications of Troy Mallillin taking his talents to Katipunan? Let's break it down: In the short term Right now, don't expect Troy to get a lot of minutes. As mentioned before , Ateneo is filled with a number of forwards in Mike Nieto, Vince Tolentino and Raffy Verano. Shaun Ildefonso is no longer in that fray of forwards after taking his talen
