Quick Fire: FEU Tamaraws make it rain to beat down UST Growling Tigers

FEU Tamaraws def. UST Growling Tigers 96-70

Notable Players:

Kenneth Tuffin, FEU (14 points, 3/4 3FG): Tuffin continued his hot streak by hitting three bombs from rainbow country to help out the Tamaraws. This kind of production is key for FEU, as it allows Coach Olsen to play Tuffin and Tolentino at the same time with Tuffin playing the SF position.

Arvin Tolentino, FEU (13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals): Hey Arvin played some defense! Aside from that, he did a good job of bouncing back for the Tamaraws by producing a lot with the limited minutes he was given.

Oliver De Guzman, UST (17 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists): With no Jordan Sta. Ana due to injury, Olive De Guzman took on playmaking duties and he did a respectable job.

Jeepy Faundo, UST (17 points, 13 rebounds): With no Steve Akomo due to a flu, Jeepy took charge for the Growling Tigers.

Quick Analysis:

- This game was very timely for FEU. They needed a confidence booster, and they got one versus the UST Growling Tigers. A lead as high as 36 points? 12 made threes? That's something.

- FEU had eight guys who managed to score six points or more. They were lauded for their depth over the preseason. They showed it against UST. Now if only they can show it versus better teams...

- UST's turnover woes continue as they managed to commit 23 turnovers against a team that isn't even particularly good at forcing turnovers.

Open Letter To The San Miguel Beermen

NOTE: This article isn't exactly in a form of a letter. The look of frustration beckons. (credits to Interaksyon.com)             To be honest, I have never been a die hard San Miguel Beermen fan until the season of their Governors’ Cup championship against the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters. Sure, they were my very first favorite PBA team, but the only reason for that was because Olsen Racela’s son was a friend and a batch mate. Despite that though, SMB has been my top favorite team. I may root for Alaska, RoS and at times Air 21, but the San Miguel Beermen will always be my top team.             The very first time that the Beermen broke my heart was when they lost an epic 7 game series against the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters in the 2012 Philippine Cup, back when they were still called the Petron Blaze Boosters. Despite that, I still continued to root for the team. Yet, heart break stil came. And another. And another. Then Renaldo Balkman chokes away Petron’s champion
